Introduction

Urban Development Authority Department of Madhya Pradesh State intended to systematize their property tax collection process with accurate identification of properties in the region. The effort involved creating a digital geo-referenced base map and establishing a strong visual link between the location of a property (building or plot) onto it as well as its corresponding tax data.

This would provide a spatial dimension to the tax records through proper mapping of properties. Spatial and distributional analysis through geo-technology would consequently go on to improve revenue collection.
